WHO WE ARE

This initiative was founded by Jack Openshaw (Y12) and Alexandra Uy-Tioco (Y11), both students in Hong Kong as of 2020. We believe that as our society develops into a more and more technologically advanced one, there will always be people who are left behind. As part of the more privileged sector of society, it is our duty to use that privilege to aid those who are less fortunate. Hence, we started this initiative to give back to our home country, the Philippines.

WHAT WE DO

We collect old tech and donate it to those in need.

Many of the more fortunate families in Hong Kong buy the newest iPhones, iPads and laptops not long after they are released. This leads to families stocking up old phones and tablets at home that they no longer use. We want to put these old gadgets to good use.

Our team goes around Hong Kong every Sunday to pick up tech donations either from people's homes or at agreed meeting spots. After that, we scrub the tech of any information so it is brand-new. Lastly, we place the gadgets in a box and ship it to our beneficiaries in the Philippines.

The people that receive this old tech are children and students in poorer communities in the Philippines. They do not have the funds to purchase their own tech, and many schools do not have the technological resources they need to help students adapt to our technologically advancing world. This tech drive would allow less fortunate students to access the resources they need.
